Once upon a time Madi decided to do a triathlon. She's not a very good swimmer so she chose to one that had the swim going with the current in a river. The Snake river to be exact. Anyway, so she trained all spring and summer and last week the triathlon finally came. So she went up to Burley, Idaho to become a Spudman.
The morning of the actual triathlon was a little rushed. Scratch that. It was really rushed. Everyone was scrambling to set up their running gear and then to eat, go to the bathroom (very very important), and to get those darn wetsuits on. Madi got her's on just in time to get into the water for her wave. After that it should have been alright, except Madi's a bad swimmer. So there she is trying to avoid people while trying desperately to stay afloat when she turns onto her back to take a break and the whole world starts spinning really really fast. Great. So about half way through the swim, she starts to panic. But it's fine because she did finish. And then she took the bike nice and easy. In fact, the bike and the first 4 miles of the run were actually fun! But then those running miles got longer and longer and all Madi could think about was finishing.
Overall, she did better than she was expecting and she wants to do another one, just maybe a sprint distance this time...
The End
