Walker

Yes, this is Walker and I stole this image from Facebook
So this happened a couple of days ago but I hadn't quite gotten over the shock of it all to tell the story. But now that it's all behind me here it goes...
Once upon a time there was an awkward, shy girl named Madi. Madi was hanging out at her friend sean's house just minding her own business when one of her friends decides that standing right behind her while she was sitting on the couch would be ok. This boy was Walker. Now Walker is a very strange kid. He has red hair, and a very different personality. He likes to play video games all day, but he's also extremely smart. Anyway Madi felt uncomfortable while Walker was behind her so she asked him to move. That only made things worse because then Madi's friends Jake, Houston, and Sharissa said that they would pay Walker to kiss Madi on the cheek. And so he tried but Madi was too fast for him. So then he hopped over the couch and sat right between Madi and Houston. He tried again to kiss her, but she dodged it by squishing Sharissa into the couch. So then to make things really awkward he puts his arm around Madi. Now I lied when saying earlier that Spain broke Madi's space bubble. She still has one, but she's fine if it's someone she's comfortable around. But as Walker is an uncomfortable person to begin with, having his arm around her was not fine. He then continued this act and moved his hand to the back of her neck and started to massage her. Ugh. So eventually Madi got fed up with all of this and said that he could kiss her cheek if she kissed Sharissa's first. So he did and it was all over really fast, haha if only. Madi has been teased and teased about that since. It's really not fair because she thinks that Walker should be the one being teased. Life's not fair I guess. The End.

An Anniversary

So a year ago from today I got home from spending 10 months (exactly) in Burgos, Spain. So I thought that it would be nice to tell a quick story about something that happened to me in spain to celebrate my coming home.
Once upon a time there was a girl named Madi who was out with her host brother and his friends one night on the streets of Burgos. Her host brother came across someone he recognized so he stopped to say hello while on their way to yet another bar. Apparently, Madi's host brother had talked about her to this kid because this random boy knew exactly who Madi was. So Miguel (the host brother that's coming to Utah soon!) introduced this boy to Madi. As is custom in Spain, Madi and this boy got closer when they were introduced to kiss each other once on each cheek. However this time, the boy was a little too drunk and he could not quite see where Madi's cheek was so he accidentally kissed Madi on the corner of her mouth. Gross. The End

A Shock in China

Ok so I guess I'm just in the blogging mood and I know you guys (the two of you that read this) have been waiting a long time to hear this story so here it is...
Once upon a time there was a girl named Madi. Madi was in China supporting her parents while they did their 3rd ironman in Haikou, China. Well after the ironman, her family traveled up north to see the country. Then they went to Beijing. They were at Tiananmen Square one night watching the soldier retire the flag when they met this boy/man (I'm not 100% sure he was a boy). Madi's family was having a trouble communicating with a man that was trying to see Mao watches, so this boy cut in and tried to help. The only problem was once her family bought a watch for kicks, this boy didn't leave. He stood by Madi watching the program. And then out of no where he puts his arm around Madi and tells her in a voice that sounded like he'd been drinking, but Madi's pretty sure he wasn't drunk, "I luuuuuv you!" Weird! Ok so that was offense #1. Anyone that knows Madi knows that at that age no one was allowed to get in her 3 ft. bubble. She was afraid of contact, especially from some strange chinese boy.
Ok so after that Madi ducked out of him arm and went to the other side of her dad. The program ended and Madi's dad decided to say goodbye to this boy. He gave everyone hugs and hugged Madi last. Madi did not want to hug the boy but she thought she could get it over with fast and be done with it. So she goes in for the hug. While they were hugging, the boy's hands moved down her back and squeezed her bottom. Offense #2. Ok that was a BIG offense. She pushed him away and walked away while her family laughed and took pictures with him.
My sister Jessica and my dad with the boy
Then Madi's family went to this outdoor market. About 2 hours later they were eating something disgusting so they turned around to find someone that might enjoy it and there was the boy. He'd followed Madi for 2 hours!!!! Offense #3! So by now Madi was terrified. So she insisted that they leave. On the way back to the hotel they stopped to get some bottled water. Madi happened to turn her head to look behind her when they stopped and there she saw someone dart behind a tree. She was positive it was the boy so she took her sister and went to the hotel before the rest of her family. There she bolted down her windows and locked her door.
The next morning she half expected the boy to be standing in the lobby of the hotel, but he wasn't. Luckily she never saw THAT one again, but there were other boys. And that's how Madi's 3 ft. bubble became a 5 ft. bubble.
The End

Boys

So once upon a time there was this awkward teenager named Madi. And one day she realized she liked this boy. This is how it happened, he needed something of her's that she forgot to bring to school so at lunch they drove to her house and "Are you gonna kiss me or not" by Thompson Square was playing on the radio. Now this boy has 0 talent for memorizing lyrics but it doesn't prevent him from singing anyway, so he started to sing along to the radio. Madi turned to laugh at him right when he said, "Are you gonna kiss me or not?" Long story short, Madi decided she liked him from that point on.
Everything was great and they became really good friends until a certain girl came around and stole him away. Story of Madi's life. It's fine. Really. However, now the girl is gone forever and Madi's hanging out with this boy again. She doesn't really know what to do. So this story has no ending yet.
Sorry about that but Thompson Square's song was playing on the radio when I started this post so...

Mt. Baldy

So once upon a time Madi was at a rodeo and she decided that the next day she should do something fun so she texted her friend Annie and decided to hike the small mountain by her house, Mt. Baldy. Annie and her didn't want to go alone, so they each texted just about everyone in their phones, but out of all those people only two of them said yes and one was a maybe that later turned into a no.
So the next morning they each got up a little after 6 and Madi and Annie met at dry canyon at exactly the right time. Spencer and Covey (the two boys that agreed to come), however, decided that getting up was too much for them so they texted Madi and told her that they would come another time. So in the end, it really was just Madi and Annie and Madi's dog, Izzy. Up the mountain they went and the more they went up, the more tired they got. They quickly realized that Mt. Baldy is not so little. There is a never-ending hill that's extremely steep on the trail and once you get to the end (so I guess it's not never-ending) it's only about another 20 min. and you're at the top! And eventually they made it! At the top they made phone calls to their parents and then they called Spencer to rub it in his face. And once that was over, they ran down the mountain and let their exhausted legs go. They did the whole thing in 3 hours and 20 min. So yay!
Then Madi had work that seemed to go on forever. And then when she got home exhausted, she took a 4 hour nap! And now she's about to hang out with Annie again where I'm sure they'll experience a new fun adventure.
So the moral of the story, is to DO something this summer. Don't just lay down and play video games and watch movies! The End

Dumb Longboarder

So once upon a time there was a girl named Madi. Madi felt the need to go running every day, so when she woke up extremely late on a Saturday morning, she was forced to either run on the scortching hot, shadeless streets by her house, or run up the canyon. So she chose the second option and after watching a pathetic movie, she drove to the main parking lot at the entrance to the provo canyon. While she was running she experienced the same pain she gets every once in a while that warns her that something's about to come. So unfortunately for Madi, her run was cut short and she decided to turn back. Once she reached the turn to the parking lot a stupid longboarder cut in front of her. He was wearing short green shorts, a striped tank, a dumb hat, and some aviator glasses. After he cut her off, his longboard hit a dip in the road and he wiped out. Madi had to withold her snickers and as she ran past she asked him if he was all right. He said ya and so Madi ran to her car and got in. As she was driving away though, he held his thumb up to catch a ride. She rolled down her window and asked where he wanted to go. He wanted to go back up the canyon!!! What an idiot! Didn't he realize that Madi's the girl that he just made a complete fool out of himself in front of?

First Month of Spain

So fast forward about eleven years. Now Madi finds herself in Burgos, Spain. She's a little lost but she's enjoying life and trying her best to adjust to the new customs.
During the first week of school, a group similar to scouts came in to her classroom to encourage her peers to join in on the fun and participate in the group. They announced that they were going to have an opening social and that it would be free and everyone was invited. Well Madi thought that sounded lame but she didn't voice her opinion.
A few days later Madi made some friends at school. She started eating with this particular group of girls and they seemed really nice at the time. During one of their breaks, the girls invited Madi to this opening social. They said it was nice dressed, so Madi would have to wear a dress or skirt.
When the opening social came around, Madi wore her favorite sunday outfit, a cream colored sundress with a brown cardigan. She then made her way over to one of the girl's houses. When she saw what they were wearing, she felt a little uncomfortable, but she got over that really fast. You see, all of the other girls were wearing cocktail dresses with nylons. Oh well.
So they made their way over to the gym of the school. Their year was the oldest year allowed to participate in this group (which was called grupos) so they were in charge of working the party.
Everything went well and Madi actually enjoyed herself. She danced and helped the little kids play poker and other games like that.
After the party, all of the people from her year that came went outside to talk, and that's when things started going downhill. They were outside in a circle when one of the cutest boys that lived in Burgos came up to Madi to practice his english. He started talking about driving and so when Madi reached into her wallet to show him her license the wind caught the bottom of her dress and lifted it up. The whole group started to laugh and Madi was thoroughly embarrassed, but the night didn't end there. However, Madi's conversation with the cute boy did indeed end.
After talking for a while, the girls headed down to a plaza where everything happens at night. The girls enjoyed teaching Madi some spanish words that she later discovered weren't the best to say. They then met up with a kid that was also new to Maristas (Madi's school). This kid sat down right next to Madi and kept putting his arm around her. Now, anyone that knew Madi before she went to Spain knew that Madi did not like to be touched. In fact, she had about a 3 ft. bubble that no one was allowed in. Anyway so the boy obviously didn't know that. Then he kept saying that he was smarter and that the dumb kids took the social science classes, which was another mistake on his part. And then he used the F word right in front of Madi because he thought it was funny. And then when he tried to kiss Madi (he was drunk at this point) Madi pushed him away and used one of the new words her friend taught her. "Eres un G******a!" she said. Well to make a long story a little shorter, Andrés (the boy) and Madi never spoke again and Madi went home shortly after.

My First Crush

Once upon a time there was a very nice, innocent, young girl named Madi. Madi had many friends and she enjoyed playing with anyone that wanted to play with her, boys or girls. Life was fine and dandy until about half way through kindergarten when she started to feel differently about a certain boy named Parker. Yes, it was kindergarten. In order to know how to act upon these feelings, Madi went and asked for advice from her very wise, second grade, life-long friend, Jessica. Jessica, being the smart, experienced second grader that she was, advised Madi to call Parker and pretend to be another boy in the neighborhood. But Jessica didn't only just advise that, she helped Madi find Parker's home number in the phone book and she dialed the number herself. So then Madi was left with no choice but to fake a low voice and talk to this strange boy. She thought the misery was over and that Parker didn't expect anything until the next day at school when the whole classroom was full of the news. Apparently, Madi's other good friend, Stephanie, had told Parker what Madi had done. This is why, to this day, Madi's such an awkward child. She still can't look at Parker or Stephanie without feeling embarrassment. But as it turns out, this was just the beginning of a life of misfortune for Madi. The real exciting stories come later in life...

The Start

So it's really late and I can't go to bed so I decided to create a blog that highlights some of the great moments in my life. After telling a bunch of stories tonight to one of my friends, I realized that some of these interesting times I've had should be shared. I plan to use mostly real names in my stories, so if you get offended in any way I'm sorry, but that's life. Anyway, now that this is all set up, I'm ready for bed. I'll start with my first crush story and the disaster that was sometime soon. The End.
