First Month of Spain

So fast forward about eleven years. Now Madi finds herself in Burgos, Spain. She's a little lost but she's enjoying life and trying her best to adjust to the new customs.
During the first week of school, a group similar to scouts came in to her classroom to encourage her peers to join in on the fun and participate in the group. They announced that they were going to have an opening social and that it would be free and everyone was invited. Well Madi thought that sounded lame but she didn't voice her opinion.
A few days later Madi made some friends at school. She started eating with this particular group of girls and they seemed really nice at the time. During one of their breaks, the girls invited Madi to this opening social. They said it was nice dressed, so Madi would have to wear a dress or skirt.
When the opening social came around, Madi wore her favorite sunday outfit, a cream colored sundress with a brown cardigan. She then made her way over to one of the girl's houses. When she saw what they were wearing, she felt a little uncomfortable, but she got over that really fast. You see, all of the other girls were wearing cocktail dresses with nylons. Oh well.
So they made their way over to the gym of the school. Their year was the oldest year allowed to participate in this group (which was called grupos) so they were in charge of working the party.
Everything went well and Madi actually enjoyed herself. She danced and helped the little kids play poker and other games like that.
After the party, all of the people from her year that came went outside to talk, and that's when things started going downhill. They were outside in a circle when one of the cutest boys that lived in Burgos came up to Madi to practice his english. He started talking about driving and so when Madi reached into her wallet to show him her license the wind caught the bottom of her dress and lifted it up. The whole group started to laugh and Madi was thoroughly embarrassed, but the night didn't end there. However, Madi's conversation with the cute boy did indeed end.
After talking for a while, the girls headed down to a plaza where everything happens at night. The girls enjoyed teaching Madi some spanish words that she later discovered weren't the best to say. They then met up with a kid that was also new to Maristas (Madi's school). This kid sat down right next to Madi and kept putting his arm around her. Now, anyone that knew Madi before she went to Spain knew that Madi did not like to be touched. In fact, she had about a 3 ft. bubble that no one was allowed in. Anyway so the boy obviously didn't know that. Then he kept saying that he was smarter and that the dumb kids took the social science classes, which was another mistake on his part. And then he used the F word right in front of Madi because he thought it was funny. And then when he tried to kiss Madi (he was drunk at this point) Madi pushed him away and used one of the new words her friend taught her. "Eres un G******a!" she said. Well to make a long story a little shorter, Andrés (the boy) and Madi never spoke again and Madi went home shortly after.
The End
