Once upon a time a man named Dave Tobler took Madi, her parents, Miguel, Weston, McKenzie, and the Taylors (from the ward) to a canyon down by Goblin Valley. The canyon's name is Not Mind Bender and it's an extreme slot canyon. It was Madi's first time ever repelling and she got a little banged up, but she had a blast. Because of the high water levels everywhere in Utah this year, the slot canyon had sections with water that went over Madi's head. So she had to swim in her clothes, with her pack above her head, without kicking her legs very much because the walls of the canyon were so close together. Kind of difficult. But everyone survived. Also there were tons of daddy long legs all along the walls of the canyon and that creeped Madi out a bit, but she was sure that there were worse things crawling on her body at the moment that she didn't really mind.
